Hansei Zasshi
The Hansei Zasshi magazine was renamed twice. It was first named Hanseikai Zasshi and later, Chuo Koron. The English version of the magazine was based on the original Japanese version, which was published as part of a widespread social crusade by Ryukoku University. About twenty issues of the English version of the magazine were published in Tokyo. Every issue had a beautiful full oban size woodblock print illustration inside by Gekko. The second image below shows the monk Saigyo, late in life, standing on Oiso beach in southern Kanagawa Prefecture.
